“The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own”

Introduction

Every so often, we run into a creative, creationing wall.

It happens to all of us at some point.

 As it should.

This sudden roadblock is a good thing. It is an affirmation, a reminder that you are progressing on your artistic journey.

So look over your shoulder. See how far you have come. Look back at the beginning of your voyage. Remember when you felt overwhelmed by all the things you had to learn and how you don’t think that way any more?

See. You have come a long way. Well done you.

However…

You look at your work, and you are suddenly unsure.

Whether your work is any good or not. Or even what “good” means.

Whether you are on the right track or not.

Where to go next.

You need someone to walk with you for a time and help you look at your work in a new light. A friend. A mentor, maybe.

I have had a blessed journey along the path of the medium. For 20 years, I had a mentor, one of New Zealand’s Grand Old Men of photography, who guided me. Who looked at my work. Who passed comment and encouraged me to continue. Sometimes gently, sometimes roughly. But always with a well-meaning heart. I listened and learned. Sometimes I disagreed. But inevitably, when I pushed my ego out of the way, I knew he was right. Humbling indeed.

Now it is time for me to give back, as he did for me.

So, if you are ready to share your work and direction, I can help you.

Welcome to an opportunity for me to look at your work and help you move forwards.

The Process

You get in touch with me.

We agree a time and date to meet online. Or in person if you are in the area.

You send me 20 images. 10 that you love. 10 that you don’t (we can learn more fro the ones we don’t!)

Then we get together online ( via Zoom or similar).

And talk about you and your journey.

What you want to achieve.

Where you want to take your work.

We go through each of your images. I will offer insights and technical help where it is needed.

We will record the session, so you can review at it at a later stage, as and where/ when you want.

Typical session length: about 60-90 minutes.

Fee: $NZ 210

If this sounds of use to you, please get in touch.
